It is possible to calculate costs for the products electricity, gas and heat. These can be calculated with supplier contracts, metering company contracts or with the grid operator's rate sheets:
- For supplier contracts we support fixed, dynamic and graduated contracts. In addition, we read the energy taxes once a year, so that they are automatically calculated with a supplier contract.
- A fixed metering rate is often used for metering company contracts.
- For the grid operator costs, we annually read the ACM rate sheets of all Dutch grid operators.
Adding and managing supplier contracts is explained on the Contracts page.
Adding and managing measurement company contracts is explained on the Contracts page.
The gas and electricity rates of the Dutch grid operators (Coteq, Enexis, Liander, Rendo, Stedin and
Westland Infra) we read annually from the ACM website. This concerns the connection service and transport service rates.
In order to calculate the grid operator costs for a connection, the connection configuration of a meter must be completed. For large-scale consumption, the contracted power is often also required. The Smart meter page describes how the connection configuration can be set.
Large-scale electricity consumptionSmall-scale electricity consumptionLarge-scale gas consumptionSmall-scale gas consumptionRequired connection information:
- Network operator (Coteq, Enexis, Liander, Rendo, Stedin or Westland)
- Grid level (e.g. LS, MS or TS)
- Connection capacity (in kVA)
- Contracted power (in kW)
Resulting costs:
- Fixed transport charge - determined based on grid level
- Transport capacity - determined based on grid level
- Maximum power consumed - determined based on grid level
- Contracted transmission capacity - determined on the basis of grid level and contracted capacity
- Standing charge for Connection Service - determined on the basis of connection capacity
Required connection information:
- Grid operator (Coteq, Enexis, Liander, Rendo, Stedin orWestland)
- Connection capacity (e.g. 1x25A or 3x25A)
Resulting costs:
- Fixed transport charge - determined based on grid level
- Transport capacity - determined based on grid level
- Standing charge for Connection Service - determined on the basis of connection capacity
- Measuring rate
Required connection information:
- Grid operator (Coteq, Enexis, Liander, Rendo, Stedin or Westland)
- Connection capacity (e.g. G40 or G160)
- Transport category (profile or telemetry)
- Pressure (LD or HD)
- Pressure guarantee (guaranteed or non-guaranteed)
- Contracted power (in m³/hour)
Resulting costs:
- Fixed transport charge - determined based on transport category
- Transport capacity - determined based on connection capacity, transport category and contracted power (for telemetry)
- Standing charge for Connection Service - determined on the basis of connection capacity, pressure and pressure guarantee
Required connection information:
- Grid operator (Coteq, Enexis, Liander, Rendo, Stedin or Westland)
- Connection capacity (e.g. G6 or G16)
- Pressure guarantee (guaranteed or non-guaranteed)
Resulting costs:
- Fixed transport charge
- Transport capacity - determined based on connection capacity
- Standing charge for Connection Service - determined on the basis of connection capacity and pressure guarantee
- Metering rate - determined based on connection capacity
We read the Dutch energy taxes on natural gas and electricity annually from the Belastingdienst (tax authority) website . This concerns the following taxes:
- Tax on natural gas (normal rate)
- Tax on natural gas (reduced rate)
- Tax on electricity
- Reduced rate for electricity tax
- Tax reduction per electricity connection
Storage for sustainable energy and climate transition (ODE) on natural gas (normal rate) (existed until 2022)
Storage for sustainable energy and climate transition (ODE) on natural gas (reduced rate) (existed until 2022)
Storage for sustainable energy and climate transition (ODE) on electricity (existed until 2022)
When is which tax used?
By default, the normal rate is used for natural gas or electricity. Exceptions to this are:
- Electricity
- If 'Residency function' is active in the Connection configuration, the tax reduction will be applied
- If 'Charging electric vehicles' is active in the Connection Configuration, the reduced tax for electricity is applied
- Gas
- If 'Greenhouse horticulture' is active in the Connection Configuration, the reduced tax for natural gas is applied
- If 'Block heating' is active in the Connection configuration, the 1st tax bracket of natural gas is applied
These settings are described on the Smart meter page.
